Director – Canadian Fleet Maintenance

Coteau-du-Lac, QC

 

Mandate

  • Develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures for tractors
  • Management and optimization of mechanical workshops in Canada (Coteau-du-Lac, Napanee, Windsor, Calgary)
  • Develop and improve maintenance strategies and related performance indicators
  • Work in collaboration with the team covering trailers to follow up on preventive maintenance of trailers
  • Monitor budget and improve maintenance costs
  • Manage damaged equipment
  • Manage a team with various responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a network of suppliers for equipment maintenance
  • Negotiate quotes for work related to equipment repairs
  • Management of the plate team (IRP) and permits for all transport operations
  • Participate in the configuration and definition of equipment specifications
  • Participate in analysis, operational profitability projects and return on investment projects
  • All other tasks related to the position

  • Ability to manage and mobilize multiple teams, excellent leadership
  • Ability to manage many requests and files at the same time
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • General mechanical knowledge (transport, an asset)
  • Good analytical skills and recognized for its efficiency in operations
  • Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing, in French and English
  • The ability to work in a team
  • Structured, rigorous, sense of organization and autonomy
  • Detail oriented

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or administration
  • Experience in a related or similar position
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, mainly Outlook and Excel
  • Bilingual, written and spoken, English & French (Spanish an asset)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting (tax calculation)
  • Knowledge of government standards (SAAQ, CVOR, US DOT, an asset)
  • Valid driver license and passport
