Job Summary

C.A.T. Inc., a leader in the transportation industry for over 46 years, is seeking a Director of Canadian Fleet Maintenance to oversee and enhance preventive maintenance procedures for our tractor fleet. This role involves managing mechanical workshops across Canada, developing maintenance strategies, monitoring budgets, and leading a diverse team to ensure optimal fleet performance. The Director will also be responsible for supplier relations, equipment specifications, and compliance with regulatory standards.

 

Role

  • Develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures for tractors;
  • Management and optimization of mechanical workshops in Canada (Coteau-du-Lac, Napanee, Windsor, Calgary);
  • Develop and improve maintenance strategies and related performance indicators;
  • Work in collaboration with the team covering trailers to follow up on preventive maintenance of trailers;
  • Monitor budget and improve maintenance costs;
  • Manage damaged equipment;
  • Manage a team with various responsibilities;
  • Develop and maintain a network of suppliers for equipment maintenance;
  • Negotiate quotes for work related to equipment repairs;
  • Management of the plate team (IRP) and permits for all transport operations;
  • Participate in the configuration and definition of equipment specifications;
  • Participate in analysis, operational profitability projects and return on investment projects;
  • All other tasks related to the position.

 

Requirements

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in a related or similar position;
  • Bachelor’s degree administration (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, mainly Outlook and Excel
  • Bilingual, written and spoken, English & French (Spanish an asset)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting (tax calculation)
  • Knowledge of government standards (SAAQ, CVOR, US DOT, an asset)
  • Valid driver license and passport
