Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Manager to join our team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all activities related to inventory management to ensure the availability of parts and products while optimizing costs and operational efficiency.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor inventory levels in the MIR system and bulk product purchases for multiple locations.
  • Manage daily orders for several locations.
  • Source and negotiate part prices with local and regional suppliers.
  • Review work orders to ensure parts are properly listed on the work orders.
  • Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels for each part and adjust based on usage and trends.
  • Plan and supervise cycle counts and annual inventory counts.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation to prevent loss and avoid obsolete parts or products.
  • Collaborate with various transportation operations and maintenance departments to anticipate needs and plan replenishments.
  • Establish and track performance indicators related to inventory accuracy and turnover.
  • Optimize storage and distribution processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and support staff involved in inventory management or handling.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and company procedures.
  • Other related tasks.

 

Desired Profile

  • College or university diploma in logistics, operations management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in inventory management (minimum 2 years).
  • Bilingualism French, English*
  • Strong proficiency with computer tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
  • Good leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Preference for candidates with experience using computerized inventory systems.
  • Experience with Freightliner, Detroit, and Cummins products is an asset.
  • Knowledge of best practices in inventory management and supply chain.
  • Knowledge of the MIR software will be considered an asset.
