Job Summary

C.A.T. Inc., Transportation Company in business over 45 years, is looking for a dynamic candidate for the following opportunity in Calgary. The person will oversee the team managers in their daily tasks of organizing, coordinating and planning all load assignments ensuring the productivity of our fleet and the quality of our services.

 

Role

  • Oversee all areas of day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency and service goals.
  • Provide leadership to staff and drivers.
  • Support staff through change while continuing to increase employee engagement.
  • Build deep and trust relationships with a variety of clients and customers, ensuring contractual compliance and proactively responding to and resolving concerns or issues.
  • Take appropriate action to meet and exceed established targets.
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Ability to resolve matters independently, while using appropriate judgment to seek guidance and counsel as required to navigate complex matters.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and adapt to evolving priorities and timelines.
  • Strong leadership skills focused on results and teamwork, with a client service orientation.
  • Ensure Equity and Occupational Health and Safety are at the forefront.
  • Ensuring compliance with managing staff and company policies and regulations.
  • Review and control costs.
  • Ensure high productivity standards are met.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement.

 

Required skills

  • Good problem solving and analytic skills and be recognized as being efficient in the operations.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Good knowledge of AS400, PC Miller and Windows Office series.
  • Proven team leadership.

 

Requirements

  •  University degree or equivalent.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in operational leadership roles in the transportation field.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and change management skills.
  • Ability to ensure proper monitoring.
