Job Summary

We are seeking some one with a strong background in finance, accounting, and technology to join our dynamic team as a Finance Business Analyst and play a key role in implementing and optimizing financial systems and modules, with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics GP. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze finance and accounting processes, gather requirements, and ensure the successful integration of various modules such as fixed assets, property management, credit and collection, and others. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to bridge the gap between our finance team and the technology they use to achieve success in their business processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathering and Analysis
  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to understand business processes and identify opportunities for improvement through the implementation of Dynamics GP modules.
  • Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Project Planning
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation, to ensure the successful implementation of Dynamics GP modules.
  • Work closely with IT and finance teams to align project milestones with organizational goals.
  • Systems Evaluation
  • Evaluate existing financial systems and processes to identify gaps and areas for enhancement through Dynamics GP.
  • Analyze and recommend new technology solutions that align with the organization’s finance and accounting needs, as well as leading the vendor selection process.
  • Systems Integration
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of Dynamics GP modules with existing software, applications, and databases.
  • Work closely with external vendors or consultants to implement, configure, and customize Dynamics GP.
  • Process Improvement
  • Analyze current finance and accounting processes to identify areas for process optimization and automation, ensuring that Dynamics GP enhances overall efficiency.
  • Develop and document best practices, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the implemented modules.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance
  • Develop test cases and conduct thorough testing to ensure the Dynamics GP modules meet defined requirements.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and address any issues or defects with end-users.
  • User Training and Support
  • Work with our corporate trainer to develop training materials and aid in providing training sessions to finance staff and end-users on how to effectively use Dynamics GP and it’s modules.
  • Offer ongoing support to the end users and troubleshoot system-related issues.
  • Data Migration and Security
  • Oversee the migration of financial data from legacy systems to Dynamics GP, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with IT and data security teams to establish and maintain data security and compliance.
  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Aid the business intelligence team to develop and maintain financial reporting capabilities within Dynamics GP/Power BI to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Help create dashboards and ad-hoc reports to support data-driven financial strategies.
  • Documentation and Documentation Management
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the implemented Dynamics GP modules’ functionalities, configurations, and updates.
  • Ensure proper version control and documentation management practices are followed.

 

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes is a firm requirement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, previous work in finance system implementation is a significant asset.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. English-French bilingualism is a very strong asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with Dynamics GP or other financial systems is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work independently as well as in team driven initiatives.
