Senior Financial Analyst – Special Projects

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, as Senior Financial Analyst – Special Projects you will play a key role in
helping shape the Financial Reporting & Analysis department. Comfortable in a growing environment you see
opportunities in change. You are a strong accountant with significant experience in audit, process improvement,
reconciliations, consolidation and financial reporting. As a successful candidate you have a proven track record
of identifying deficiencies, proposing and implementing improvements in a multicompany, multi-currency and
multinational team environment. This is an influential role that requires a high level of professionalism,
discretion, and organization skills.

Role

  • Audit current processes for cash application, bank reconciliations and recommend improvements
  • Audit monthly reconciliation of balance sheet subledger accounts to the trial balance
  • Audit Intercompany reconciliations and establish processes for improved accuracy.
  • Review current internal financial reporting systems and identify any weaknesses/controls needed.
  • Implement controls in the monthly financial reporting package to improve timeliness and accuracy.
  • Implement monthly processes to revalue USD balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting modules in Microsoft Dynamics(Great Plains).
  • Assist in the integration of new companies to the accounting software.
  • Work collaboratively with the PowerBI resource to automate certain existing reports and develop new reports that will support Senior Management in decision making.
  • Support the Finance team with ad-hoc requests and new initiatives.

Skills and expertise

  • Good oral and written communication skills both in English and French
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projectsin a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and work with tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Great Plains)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Accounting title (CPA)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position, with audit experience
