As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible to ensure our employees are paid on time and that we comply with all Province, State, and Federal regulations.


  • Assist Payroll Coordinator with Bi-weekly payroll processing for hourly and salary employees (CDN & US Payroll)
  • Assist Payroll Coordinator to ensure accurate processing of day-to-day payroll updates and documentation including new hires, pay rate changes, terminations, and ROEs
  • Assist Payroll Manager in the day-to-day supervision of driver representatives
  • Assist the Payroll Manager coordinate relations between departments linked to payroll. Related to inquiries from employees, management, and government agencies
  • Assist the Payroll Manager review procedures in the payroll department and identify areas of improvement
  • Assist Payroll Coordinator with Monthly reporting of various provinces WSIB
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and state regulations (e.g., WCB, BC health tax, etc.)
  • Document and maintain operating manuals for all payroll processes
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll, accruals, and other adjustments as necessary
  • Prepare month-end payroll reconciliations and working papers
  • Assist accounting team with general accounting duties and month-end requirements
  • Assist Payroll Manager in preparation of year end files and government reporting on a timely basis
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with other ad-hoc tasks as required


  • College degree or equivalent
  • PCP, equivalent experience, or in the final steps of program is an asset
  • At least 5 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in transportation industry is considered an asset
