Today CAT is a conglomerate with companies in Canada, US and Mexico and is looking for a dynamic candidate to join its Accounting and Finance Team for the following opportunity in Coteau-du-lac.

As our Assistant Controller, you’ll work under the supervision of our Controller to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day accounting operations.

Schedule

  • 8 Hours per day: 8:00am to 5:00pm (40 Hours per week)

Role

As our Assistant Controller, you’ll work under the supervision of our Controller to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day accounting operations.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Controller, assist daily activities (AP, AR, billing)
  • Prepare monthly analysis/reconciliation for the financials reporting packages (Interpretation of data, validation, accuracy, reconciliation)
  • Manage periodic reporting and required legal fillings
  • Assist in the preparation of the budgets
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Maintain, establish, provide recommendations on controls, best practices, improvements
  • Provide leadership, training, and development to finance and accounting teams
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA certification
  • Critical thinking, detail oriented and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure favorable inter departmental communication with on site & off-site colleagues
  • Bilingual (French, English)
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to manage different tight deadlines in a fast paste environment, organisation skill, adaptability
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry is an asset

 

*Bilingualism is required as over 95% of the commercial clientele served is English-speaking.
